Google Promises Android 17 OTA Fix for Beta 4.0 and 4.1 Opt-Out Glitch

Google said an OTA update is coming soon for Android 17 Beta 4.0 and 4.1 users who cannot exit the beta track to the stable release without wiping their devices.
The issue has hit some Beta 4.1 testers in particular, while other Beta 4 users were able to move to this week’s Android 17 stable release normally.
Google indicated the problem is tied to the beta-to-stable transition process, where patch-level mismatches can make the older beta build appear newer than the stable software.
The fix should let affected testers leave the program and keep their data, resolving a common pain point when beta users shift onto a newly released stable version.
