One week before the June 25 draft, 19-year-old UNC forward Caleb Wilson said he is focused on finally reaching the NBA after years of targeting the moment.
Wilson enters the draft projected in the top four after a freshman season at North Carolina in which he averaged 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 blocks.
A hand injury shortened part of that season, but Wilson said he has recovered and is navigating the pre-draft process of team interviews, workouts and combine testing.
At the NBA combine, Wilson posted a 39.5-inch max vertical and 34.5-inch standing vertical, numbers that helped front offices evaluate his athletic upside.
The Atlanta native, who once attended a Hawks camp at the old Philips Arena, said draft night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center will mark the realization of a lifelong goal.
