190 Pages of Broadview Six Transcripts Show Grand Jurors Rebuked Conspiracy Case

Summary
190 pages of newly released transcripts show grand jurors repeatedly challenged prosecutors’ conspiracy theory before the Broadview Six were ultimately indicted in October 2025.
Three grand jury sessions reveal jurors questioning whether mirroring others’ actions without an express agreement could amount to conspiracy, while prosecutors offered no direct evidence of any explicit plan to assault or impede an ICE vehicle.
Two earlier presentations ended in no bills, and one juror was dismissed after calling the case “a crock of shit” and asking whether prosecutors had any new evidence.
A third attempt on Oct. 23 included prosecutor Sheri Mecklenburg disclosing outside contact with two jurors and again framing dissent as jurors’ “feelings” rather than legal disagreement.
The transcripts were released after charges against all six defendants were dismissed, and defendant Brian Straw and his lawyer are now seeking sanctions against the prosecutors.
