Sony Pictures Takes International Distribution for Gerwig’s 2027 Narnia Film

Feb. 12, 2027 is the worldwide theatrical launch date for “Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,” with Sony Pictures handling international distribution and Netflix keeping domestic release.
Imax previews start Feb. 10, and the film will play across major North American chains including AMC, Regal and Cinemark before landing on Netflix on April 2, 2027.
Greta Gerwig wrote and directed the movie, the first screen adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s 1955 origin story “The Magician’s Nephew.”
Netflix framed the wider theatrical rollout as an exception for a large-scale film, extending a partnership with Sony that already includes a global Pay-1 licensing deal.
