Qualcomm paired its new Snapdragon Reality Elite XR chip with the Snapdragon START program, adding a turnkey hardware-and-software path for brands building smart glasses and other personal AI devices.
The flagship chip delivers up to 60% faster GPU, 30% faster CPU and 160% higher NPU performance than XR2+ Gen 2, enabling on-device LLM agents, vision models and computer-vision workloads.
Reality Elite also targets headset constraints with support for up to 4.4K per eye at 90 FPS, 20% longer battery life and operation up to 12 degrees Celsius cooler under load.
START bundles Snapdragon-based modules, companion chips, cloud and smartphone app connectivity, plus AI-agnostic software and white-label products including audio-only and display-equipped glasses.
XREAL's upcoming Project Aura will use the chip, positioning Qualcomm's platform for Android XR devices that need better tracking, lower-latency video see-through and improved power efficiency.
