Summary
Week of June 22, Firaxis will roll out Civilization 7's free 1.4.1 update, adding long-requested hotseat multiplayer for local pass-and-play matches on a single device.
The patch also revamps the Archipelago map with a more randomized generation system and overhauls Governments, Happiness and Celebrations, including Traditions that persist across Ages.
Brush & Blade Part 1 launches alongside 1.4.1 as paid DLC, adding leader Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Heian Japan and Sengoku Japan, plus four new Wonders and profile customizations.
The release extends Firaxis' post-launch repair effort after Civilization 7's troubled debut; May's Test of Time update had already addressed major complaints with broader gameplay changes.
