Summary
A UAE family of eight, including three children and a nanny, spent about 300,000 yuan on a seven-day education and business tour in China in April, underscoring rising high-end demand from the Gulf.
That demand is being driven by wealthy Gulf families seeking exposure to China’s technology sector alongside education and business opportunities, reshaping travel patterns to the world’s second-largest economy.
UFOX Travel said such clients were rare just a few years ago, when its business mainly took Chinese entrepreneurs to Dubai and Abu Dhabi and arranged Middle East study tours for Chinese students.
The shift became clearer last winter when the operator hosted more than 40 students from a private Abu Dhabi high school, many from middle- and upper-income families, pointing to broader Gulf interest beyond single family trips.
