Summary
Overnight on June 12, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces said they substantially damaged the ELOU AVT-7 crude-processing unit at Russia's Nizhnekamsk refinery in Tatarstan.
The SOF said the strike followed extensive intelligence work with the Russian resistance movement Chornaya Iskra to identify infrastructure whose disruption would most affect the plant's operations.
The hit unit is central to primary crude processing, heating and separating oil into fractions, making it a critical node in the refinery's production chain.
Nizhnekamsk is one of Russia's major refining complexes, with capacity of nearly 16 million tons a year, about 99% refining depth, 140 billion rubles in 2025 revenue and 38.4 billion rubles in net profit.
