NWS Issues 60-mph Severe Storm Warning for 2 Michigan Counties as 8-County Tornado Watch Holds

Livingston and Genesee counties were placed under a severe thunderstorm warning until 11:15 p.m. EDT as a fast-moving line of storms pushed across southeast Michigan.
At 10:21 p.m., radar showed storms from near St. Johns to the Lansing area moving east at 55 mph, with wind gusts up to 60 mph, small hail and possible tornadoes.
Forecasters said the storms could damage roofs, siding and trees, with Howell, Brighton, Hartland, Fowlerville and Owosso among communities in the projected path late Thursday night.
A broader tornado watch remains in effect until 2 a.m. Friday for eight southeast Michigan counties, reflecting continued overnight risk of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
