No. For a Pixel 10 owner, buying a charger now is not automatically a mistake, because the phone’s own limits matter more than the next standard on paper. The Pixel 10 Pro XL supports up to 25W magnetic wireless charging and 45W wired charging. Google’s PixelSnap charger is built around Qi2 magnetic alignment, which improves charging consistency and reduces wasted energy and heat compared with older non-magnetic pads. That means a good Qi2 charger bought today should still deliver the best wireless experience the Pixel 10 can use. The coming Qi2.2 generation raises wireless charging to 30W, but that does not mean a Pixel 10 will suddenly charge at 30W. Current reporting points to broader Qi2.2 support arriving with newer devices such as the Pixel 11 series. Qi2.2 is backward compatible, so future chargers should still work with the Pixel 10, but likely at the Pixel 10’s own 25W ceiling. The practical question is timing. If you need a charger now, a quality Qi2 or PixelSnap charger is a sensible buy, especially if you want magnetic alignment, a stand, or better reliability through a case. If you are buying purely for future-proofing and do not mind waiting, Qi2.2 accessories may offer slightly faster charging for later phones. If speed is the priority, wireless is not the best place to spend. A USB-C PD PPS wall charger rated 30W or higher is the better purchase, because wired charging remains much faster on the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
