Framework said pre-orders for the Framework 13 Pro with Linux preloaded are already exceeding Windows configurations before the laptop ships later this month.
The 13 Pro is aimed at software developers who want Linux but do not want to give up premium hardware, a gap CEO Nirav Patel said has widened as more developers grow frustrated with macOS.
A new haptic touchpad and black anodized aluminum chassis are central to that pitch, giving the machine a more MacBook-like feel while keeping Framework's repairability and modular design.
Framework says the shell remains compatible with Framework 13 devices from roughly the past five years, extending the company's upgrade-focused approach into a more premium tier.
