Summary
A 17-year-old Whitmer High graduate was arrested Tuesday on a tampering charge after investigators said he removed and drove away the weapon allegedly used in Saturday’s Old West End Festival shooting.
Prosecutors said the teen was already on probation in a concealed-weapons case and may now face adult charges; a judge denied defense requests for GPS release and ordered him held.
Police said the teen is not accused of being one of the shooters in the attack, which injured at least 12 people ages 14 to 61 when two rival groups exchanged gunfire.
Ka Nye Taylor, 20, was identified as one alleged shooter and is wanted on 11 felonious-assault counts, while police also released an image of a second suspected gunman and asked the public for help.
