It will substantially expand existing *Pokémon Pokopia* saves by turning nearby seas into buildable space, effectively letting players extend their towns below the surface rather than being limited to land. The key change comes with the free Version 2.0 update in August 2026, which adds the “Dive” move. That lets players explore underwater areas off places such as Bleak Beach and Withered Wasteland, then build structures, plant grass and crops, and interact with Water-type Pokémon there. In practical terms, existing towns gain a new vertical layer and much more usable room for construction. The paid Expansion Pass deepens that shift. Part One, “Bubbly Basin,” adds a dedicated underwater town along with ocean-themed furniture, outfits, and Pokémon including Popplio, Mudkip, and Corphish. Those assets can be folded into players’ current worlds, giving older towns a new marine style and more varied residents. The feature also changes how players design settlements. Instead of treating the shoreline as a boundary, they can create connected land-and-sea communities, with above-water neighborhoods flowing into underwater districts. That opens up more immersive town planning and more ambitious builds. It also formalizes something some players had tried through extreme workarounds, such as draining ocean areas to make aquatic builds. With Dive, underwater construction becomes an intended, streamlined part of the game, making expansion easier and more stable within existing worlds.

Version 1.1.0 is now live for Pokémon Pokopia, adding new Pokémon conversation variations and raising the placement cap for electricity-using items to 1,024 from 512.
The patch also targets usability, letting players pick destination floors inside two-story houses, view flower and hedge color variants, and cancel or suspend trades during in-game events.
Dozens of bugs were fixed across movement, construction, requests and multiplayer, including item-loss issues during host transfer, failed Dream Island travel and controls becoming unresponsive in some events.
The update follows this week's Nintendo Direct reveal of Pokopia's expansion pass, with Part 1 "Bubbly Basin" due in August 2026, Part 2 later in 2026 and Part 3 in 2027.
