Chicago police data compiled from June 5-7 show 29 people were shot over three days, and four of the victims died.
Two of the dead were among seven people shot early Friday when two gunmen opened fire on a group standing outside; in another attack, four victims ages 12 to 14 were wounded.
All of the shootings remain under investigation, with police describing the attackers in the cited cases as unknown offenders who fled.
The violence unfolded after Mayor Brandon Johnson posted Friday that Chicago was making progress in driving down crime and would keep investing in violence intervention and youth programs.
