Games Workshop revealed two new plastic Space Marine kits for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy — a replacement Mk IV Tactical Squad and a new Mk IV Assault Squad — both rescaled to match the current plastic range.
The update retires one of the line’s oldest plastic sets, the Mk IV Tactical Squad first released in 2012’s Betrayal at Calth, and keeps the same pose system used across existing Horus Heresy marine kits.
That shared format lets the new models combine with already released Heavy Weapon, Assault Weapon, Breacher Squad and Command Squad upgrade sprues, including added greaves to better match Mk VI heavy-weapon arms.
Both kits will debut in the Maximus Battle Group box, which packs 20 Mk IV tactical marines, 10 Mk IV assault marines, a Contemptor Dreadnought and a Sicaran Battle Tank; Games Workshop has not announced a release date.
The launch leaves Mk V 'Heresy' armor as the only major Horus Heresy power-armor mark still lacking a plastic kit, with only older character kits also yet to be refreshed.
