Summary
Georgia clinched its first Omaha berth since 2008 by beating Mississippi State 11-9 in 10 innings, completing a 2-0 Super Regional sweep.
Daniel Jackson’s two-run homer in the 10th decided a game Georgia had led 7-2 before Mississippi State rallied with three straight seventh-inning home runs and an eighth-inning lead.
North Carolina grabbed the other Sunday berth with a 4-3 walk-off win over USC, taking the series 2-1 after scoring twice in the ninth.
Owen Hull’s fourth double of the game drove in the winner after Jake Schaffner’s sacrifice fly tied it, sending UNC to its second College World Series in three years.
The results made Georgia the second SEC team in Omaha alongside Ole Miss, while North Carolina became the ACC’s only representative and still seeks its first national title.
