Portugal had 4.8 million fixed broadband lines in the first quarter of 2026, up 2.4% from a year earlier, according to Anacom data.
1 Gbps-or-faster connections drove much of that shift, surging 63.5% year on year.
Those higher-speed lines now account for more than 40% of all fixed broadband connections, showing a rapid move toward faster fixed internet services.
