Summary
Audi’s new Nuvolari supercar has fueled speculation about a factory-backed GT3 comeback after GTWC shared a launch photo featuring SRO chief Stephane Ratel and Audi special projects manager Chris Reinke.
The road car gives Audi a plausible base for racing: it is a 1,001-horsepower hybrid limited to 499 units, tops 215 mph, and is the brand’s fastest and most powerful production model yet.
Audi has announced no GT3 program, but the Nuvolari is understood to share a platform with Lamborghini’s Temerario, which already has a GT3 version, making a race adaptation technically credible.
Any return would reverse Audi’s recent retreat from factory-supported GT3 after the R8 LMS program wound down in 2023 during its Formula 1 pivot, though customer teams remain active and won at Monza last weekend.
