Playtonic Unveils Super Yooka-Laylee Kart With 8-Player Split-Screen and Story Campaign

Playtonic announced Super Yooka-Laylee Kart for PC and released a first trailer, pitching the game as a high-skill arcade racer rather than another platformer.
Up to 8 players can race locally in split-screen, while online multiplayer supports custom races, rules and tournaments built for both casual chaos and competitive play.
A new Rage system powers comeback abilities as racers take hits and lose positions, adding weapons, advanced movement and risk-reward tactics to the kart formula.
Beyond multiplayer, the game includes a story campaign with tournaments, rival races, Time Trials, endurance events and perk spending between races to shape championship strategy.
Other platforms are planned later, and Playtonic signaled Nintendo interest without confirming a Switch or Switch 2 version.
