Less than an hour after taking office for a fourth term, Janez Jansa ordered the Palestinian flag removed from Slovenia’s main government building in Ljubljana.
The move ends a two-year display and signals a sharp foreign-policy pivot under Jansa, a close ally of Donald Trump and Israel.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar quickly welcomed the decision and said Israel would open its first-ever embassy in the Slovenian capital without delay.
