$97 bought Jason Boehlke a caviar-topped smashed baked potato he said was so good he returned and ordered two at The Bedford by Martha Stewart in Connecticut.
The dish starts at $17, then jumps by $80 for a one-ounce caviar add-on; Boehlke said the tableside mixing with crème fraiche, chives and bacon made it feel worth the splurge.
The Bedford opened at Foxwoods Resort Casino in March as a 10,000-square-foot, 204-seat restaurant styled after Stewart’s Bedford, New York, home.
Boehlke, who films expensive and unusual food for YouTube, said the potato is large enough to serve as a meal, underscoring how the restaurant is turning luxury add-ons into a draw.
