More than eight depositions are now lined up in Courtney Clenney’s murder case after her lawyers told a judge they had examined the knives tied to the fatal stabbing.
The defense is preparing responses to prosecutors’ pretrial motions as both sides continue fighting over evidence, pushing the case toward a possible August trial after an April 27 date was postponed.
Clenney, 30, has been jailed without bond since August 2022 and has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the April 3, 2022 death of boyfriend Christian Obumseli, 27.
Prosecutors are expected to lean on evidence of the couple’s prior clashes, while the defense argues the relationship was mutually volatile and that Clenney feared Obumseli when he was stabbed.
