Universal’s “Obsession” stayed strong in fourth with $2.1 million for a $9.2 million total, and “The Devil Wears Prada 2” rounded out the top five with $43.3 million cumulative.
Two other fresh releases opened lower down the chart: Black Bear’s “Tuner” at No. 7 with $486,660 and Lionsgate U.K.’s “Power Ballad” at No. 9 with $274,191.
Sony’s live-action “Masters Of The Universe,” launching in more than 300 locations on June 3, leads the next wave of releases alongside Paramount’s “Scary Movie” revival.
