Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday tapped Janette Sadik-Khan and Melanie Hartzog for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority board, reshaping the city’s representation on the transit agency.
Sadik-Khan previously served as a transportation official under Mayor Michael Bloomberg, while Hartzog was New York City’s budget director.
The 2 nominations now go to the state Senate for approval before the pair can join the board overseeing subways, buses and commuter rail lines.
Dan Garodnick and David Jones will remain Mamdani’s appointees, leaving the mayor with a mix of transportation, planning and social-policy voices on the MTA board.
