Fetterman Backs 6-Story White House Ballroom as He Blasts Democrats Doubting April 25 Shooting

John Fetterman said Trump should begin the White House ballroom project immediately, arguing a secure venue is needed after the April 25 shooting at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
A poll found about one-third of Democratic respondents believed that shooting was staged, a view Fetterman called "wild" because attendees could verify the attack happened.
Fetterman said the dinner packed the line of succession into a crowded room, warning that a slightly different outcome in either the April attack or the earlier Butler attempt could have thrown the country into chaos.
Trump has cast the ballroom as both an event space and hardened security structure, saying it would extend six stories deep and use impenetrable steel, four-inch-thick glass and 9,000 pounds of concrete.
