July 24 is the new date for the White House Correspondents' Dinner, with Donald Trump saying he will attend and speak after gunfire halted the April 25 event.
WHCA President Weijia Jiang said the dinner will be a smaller gathering with significantly enhanced safety measures and new access procedures, while the venue remains unsettled.
Washington Hilton may not host the event because of security concerns about the building layout, though Trump said it will be at the Waldorf Astoria; organizers said location and ticket details are still pending.
Last month, suspected shooter Cole Tomas Allen pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted assassination of the president, as the WHCA cast the rescheduled dinner as a statement against violence and for press freedom.
