Destiny 2 Players Push for 316,000 Peak as Bungie Ends Support After June 9 Update

June 9 has become a rally point for Destiny 2 players trying to drive a record concurrent count after Bungie and Sony said support will end following that update.
Steam concurrents have already jumped from about 10,000 to 28,000 ahead of the patch, with players also planning protest messages during Sony's State of Play.
The headline target is 316,000 concurrent players — the Lightfall-era record — though a more realistic benchmark may be topping Edge of Fate's 108,000 peak.
Even a strong turnout may only create a short-lived spike, because Bungie has said no further updates are planned after June 9, limiting hopes of reviving long-term support.
