June 9 has become a rallying point for Destiny 2 players after Bungie developers amplified calls to log in for the game's final live-service content update, Monument of Triumph.

Gafner reposted "LOG ON JUNE 9TH" and wrote "Guardians make their own fate," a line longtime players took as a signal that community action could still influence the franchise's future.
Destiny 2's live-service development ends June 9, after which the game is expected to remain playable in a static state while Monument of Triumph delivers revamped gear, activities and Pantheon raid challenges.
