NAD Backs Spectrum Free Internet Offer for 4 Mobile Lines, Urges Clearer Fee Disclosures

Spectrum’s “Free Internet Forever” claim survived an AT&T challenge after the National Advertising Division said the offer is supported when customers buy and keep four qualifying mobile lines.
NAD said the claim works because customers pay the same mobile price whether or not they receive the internet offer, supporting Spectrum’s use of “free” in that context.
The watchdog still recommended clearer disclosures that eligibility requires 4 Spectrum Mobile lines, with some switched or ported from another carrier, and that a one-time installation charge and other fees may apply.
Spectrum said it will comply with the decision, which leaves the core promotion intact while requiring more prominent access to the offer’s remaining terms and conditions.
