June 25’s Star Fox release will let players use Switch 2 cameras to appear in GameChat as Star Fox or Star Wolf characters rather than their real faces.
An hour-long preview found the face tracking closely mirrors head movement and brow expressions, turning one of Switch 2’s weaker launch features into a more usable in-game tool despite crude mouth animation.
Multiplayer stood out most: the game includes 4v4 online dogfights, a cargo-based objective mode, and returning co-op that splits pilot and gunner roles across a single Joy-Con 2 each.
Nintendo is again revisiting the Star Fox 64 story, but the freer multiplayer arenas, mouse aiming option and first-person mode suggest a broader attempt to modernize the series on Switch 2.
