Nov. 1, 2026 is set to be Wild Waves' final day, ending nearly five decades of operations at the Federal Way, Washington, theme and water park.
Premier Parks said rising operating costs after the COVID shutdown produced millions of dollars in losses, forcing the park to discontinue operations after the 2026 season.
Opened in 1977, Wild Waves has drawn millions of guests across the Pacific Northwest and is known for attractions including Timberhawk: Ride of Prey.
Washington residents are using the park's Facebook posts to mourn the closure and urge a sale, with some still hoping a new owner could keep the park open.
The shutdown adds to broader changes across U.S. theme parks, including Universal Orlando demolishing part of Lost Continent and Disney World replacing longtime Frontierland rides.
