Super PAC Targets Thomas Massie With AI Ad Before May 19 Primary

A super PAC backing Thomas Massie’s Republican primary opponent released an AI-generated ad before Kentucky’s May 19 vote, depicting the congressman in fabricated hotel footage with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.
The spot cast the trio as a “throuple” and framed the supposed encounter as a betrayal of Donald Trump, aiming to damage Massie in one of the cycle’s toughest GOP primaries.
Massie had already become a top target after criticizing Trump, who has been determined to unseat him despite the Kentucky lawmaker’s staunch conservative record.
The ad adds to a broader 2026 midterm pattern in which AI-generated political messaging is being used to sharpen attacks and blur the line between satire, manipulation and campaign advertising.
