Intuitive Surgical Operations Faces Class Action Over 10-Minute Breaks and California Wage Violations

A class action filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court accuses Intuitive Surgical Operations of failing to accurately record shift time, allegedly shorting workers on minimum and overtime pay.
The complaint says the company used rounded time rather than actual recorded time, a practice plaintiffs claim led to underpayment under California Labor Code sections covering wages and timekeeping.
Workers were also allegedly denied required off-duty meal and rest breaks, including 10-minute rest periods tied to shifts of 2 to 4 hours, 6 to 8 hours, and 10 hours or more.
The suit further alleges inaccurate wage statements, unreimbursed business expenses, unpaid sick wages and late final pay, exposing the company to civil penalties under multiple California labor statutes.
