Emily Grant, a 38-year-old Lancashire seamstress, said she secretly made Venezuela Fury’s 40ft wedding train after being called to a confidential first fitting with the bride and her mother Paris Fury.
The train was too large for Grant’s workshop, forcing her to use a church hall in Barnoldswick, where she laid the fabric diagonally to handle the full 12m length.
Grant said she completed the fishtail design in five weeks, hand-sewing the full length and adding three fabric layers, lace edging and machine embroidery while continuing work for other bridal clients.
Venezuela Fury, 16, married Noah Price on Sunday at the Royal Chapel of St John’s on the Isle of Man, where 16-year-olds can still marry with parental consent.
Grant said the train’s social-media and TV attention had brought unexpected recognition for seamstresses, whose work she said is often overlooked compared with bridal boutiques.
