Bungie Sets Marathon Season 2 for June 2, Wipes Progression After Season 1 Finale

  • June 2 will mark the start of Marathon Season 2: Nightfall, with Bungie confirming a full gameplay progression reset between seasons while preserving cosmetics, achievements, non-seasonal Codex progress and Reward Passes.
  • Update 1.0.9 arrives Tuesday to intensify Season 1's finale: Wardens will always drop locked-room keys, major map events will trigger every run, and new Warden encounters plus heavier UESC activity will hit Perimeter, Dire Marsh and Outpost.
  • May 21 through June 2, Cryo Archive will open daily instead of only on select weekends, and every player will receive one free Cryo Archive Sponsored Kit in their mailbox each day.
  • Season 1 players can still bank benefits before the wipe, with boosted Faction XP now live and Season 2 CyberAcme kit rewards tied to Runner Level milestones of 10, 25, 50 and 75.
  • Nightfall will add the Night Marsh zone, a new Runner shell, weapons and a shell-stat system called The Cradle, with Bungie planning a fuller reveal in the week of May 25.
