Leaked images of Xbox’s unannounced Elite 3 controller show a redesigned pad with an interchangeable D-pad, back paddles, two mystery buttons and new scroll wheels.
A dedicated pair button appears to switch between local play and cloud mode, letting the controller connect directly to Xbox cloud gaming servers to cut streaming latency.
The hardware also seems to add a removable rechargeable battery, a notable change for Microsoft’s premium controller line.
The images surfaced via Brazil’s Anatel regulator through Tecnoblog, alongside a separate cloud-focused Xbox controller leak, but Microsoft has not given a release date.
Will the Elite 3's cloud mode finally make game streaming feel as responsive as local console play?
Are the controller's new scroll wheels a genuine gameplay evolution or just a feature to justify a premium price?
