Day 4 of a 42-day quarantine in Omaha, travel creator Jake Rosmarin said he has no viral infection so far after exposure on the M/V Hondius during a hantavirus outbreak.
50,000 new Instagram followers came after he began posting daily quarantine life, a surge Rosmarin called emotional because he never wanted to grow his audience through a health scare.
Rosmarin said the posts help his mental state as he copes with isolation from his fiancé and family, while trying to make the quarantine unit feel more livable with delivered supplies.
No travel company has reached out, and he said he is not seeking partnerships now; when one brand contacted him, he asked it to donate to hantavirus research instead.
Rosmarin, who left TV advertising in 2021 to become a full-time creator, said he plans to return to broader travel and lifestyle content once the six-week quarantine ends.
