Ballet Flats Split Internet Into 2 Camps as Foot Moisture Debate Spreads on TikTok

Twitter and TikTok users are sorting themselves into two ballet-flat camps — “the wets” with sweat-soaked shoes and “the dries” with cracked, peeling heels.
Doctors say the divide reflects normal differences in foot moisture: some people naturally sweat more, while others have drier skin because of genetics, age or environment.
Ballet flats can worsen both problems because their thin, minimally ventilated design traps humidity, increases friction and speeds odor and bacterial buildup.
