Altman Team Unveils 'Jackass' Trophy in Musk Trial as Judge Keeps It From 12 Jurors

A trophy inscribed "Never stop being a jackass" surfaced in Musk v. Altman before jurors entered, with Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers having lawyers read the wording aloud for the press.
OpenAI employees bought the trophy for researcher Josh Ackiam, who testified that Musk called him a jackass when Ackiam questioned racing ahead of Google despite AI-safety concerns.
Musk denied the episode happened as described, saying he may instead have told Ackiam, "Don't be a jackass."
The judge barred the 12 jurors from seeing the trophy unless Musk's lawyers opened the door to its admission, leaving Altman's team to use it mainly to challenge Musk's AI-safety narrative.
