May 8 traffic stop on I-95 led to Ja'Marley Riddle's arrest after officers said the Georgia safety was speeding and weaving through traffic in a Dodge Durango.
Police suspected Riddle was driving 95 mph; after smelling marijuana and getting consent to search, officers reported finding a heat-sealed bag, marijuana-labeled packages and THC vapes in a backpack.
Riddle, a transfer from East Carolina, was charged with felony marijuana possession and a separate Schedule I or II controlled-substance offense, plus misdemeanor speeding; bail was set at $4,258, $12,058 and $210.
Georgia said it is aware of the charges and is gathering more information, declining further comment because the case is ongoing.
The arrest adds to Georgia football's repeated traffic-related incidents since the 2023 crash that killed offensive lineman Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy.
