A first official production tease for “The Batman: Part 2” arrived Thursday when Matt Reeves posted a camera-test image of the Batmobile captioned “#SnowTires,” signaling the sequel is finally moving forward.
The photo suggests a winter setting for the long-delayed film, with Robert Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne alongside Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and likely Barry Keoghan as the Joker.
Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan have joined the cast as Gilda and Harvey Dent, while Charles Dance is believed to play Harvey’s father, Charles Dent.
The sequel follows a 2022 original that grossed $772 million worldwide on a $185 million-$200 million budget, and Reeves has said he is proud of the script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin.
Warner Bros. has set “The Batman: Part 2” for theatrical release on Oct. 1, 2027.
