May 28 brings Borderlands 4's free Version 1.7 update, adding the Subjugator and Thol the Invincible endgame encounter for players who have finished the main campaign.
The fight starts as a tag-team battle, then shifts into a final duel when the surviving boss retreats, powers up and enters an ascended form.
Version 1.7 also adds 1 new Pearlescent weapon, 4 Legendary items, 5 Class Mods, new Active Fire firmware and a community-requested Shared Character Progression toggle.
UVHM players get a higher ceiling with the cap rising to Level 7, extending the game's toughest progression track.
Late June is next on the roadmap: Version 1.8 is set to add a free Takedown alongside the paid Bounty Pack 3 DLC.
