iOS Google Home app code includes a new device label — “Google Home Display” — pointing to a possible smart display Google has not yet announced.
The name suggests Google is reviving the Nest Hub category under Google Home branding, after an upcoming smart speaker also surfaced without the Nest name.
Google has not released a new Nest Hub since the 2nd Gen model in 2021, fueling speculation that the Pixel Tablet had effectively filled the smart-display role.
Late last year, Google Home product chief Anish Kattukaran said the company remained committed to smart displays and would share more as Gemini spreads through the Google Home ecosystem.
The reference is only an app-code clue for now, so the device could still be distant from launch — or never ship at all.
