Francis Ngannou said Jon Jones’ presence on MVP’s broadcast team for next Saturday’s Netflix MMA card will be “very interesting,” putting the two stars in the same arena even if not in the cage.
Jones is set to appear alongside Cain Velasquez and other former UFC names on the inaugural MVP event, an unusual crossover that immediately revived talk of the heavyweight matchup fans never got.
Ngannou kept his comments measured at a pre-fight press conference for the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano card, while also praising Velasquez, whom he previously fought.
A Jones-Ngannou bout still looks remote because Ngannou left the UFC for PFL in 2023, and the UFC is not expected to release Jones in a move that could aid a rival promotion.

Will fans ever see Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou face off, or will contract politics keep this dream fight out of reach forever?
