Game developer Eric Barone said he would never use AI for creative work, arguing that handing creativity to an algorithm undermines the authentic human element.
Barone told Game Informer his goal is personal expression, adding that if help is needed, another human should get the chance rather than a "soulless machine."
The stance means no AI-driven creative work is planned for future Stardew Valley updates or for Haunted Chocolatier, his next game.
In the same interview, Barone said Haunted Chocolatier is still some way from release but will be "way bigger" than Stardew Valley.
