Two civilians were seriously injured and a third lightly hurt when an explosive Hezbollah drone hit a parking lot in Rosh Hanikra on Thursday; all three were taken to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.
The IDF said Hezbollah launched the drone and called the attack a blatant breach of ceasefire understandings, after earlier announcing strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon and warning residents in several Lebanese towns to evacuate.
The strike sharpened criticism inside Israel, with Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman saying northern communities remain exposed as explosive drones now hit civilians inside Israel, not only troops in Lebanon.
The attack also underscored Hezbollah's growing FPV drone threat—highlighted by footage released Sunday of a strike on an Iron Dome battery—as the IDF moves to open an FPV drone factory employing about 200 haredi soldiers.
The escalation comes as a third round of Israel-Lebanon talks opens in Washington and a US-backed truce announced last month is due to expire on Sunday.
