China agreed to buy 200 Boeing aircraft in a multibillion-dollar order that would mark its first purchase of US-made commercial jets in nearly a decade.
Trump disclosed the deal in a Fox News interview on Thursday, framing it as a breakthrough in Boeing's long-frozen access to the Chinese market.
Boeing shares fell 4.8% to $229.13 by 12:11 p.m. in New York, putting the stock on track for its biggest one-day drop in about seven months.
The order follows years in which China largely bought from Airbus, and analysts had expected a sizable Boeing win from Trump's China trip, with Jefferies previously estimating as many as 500 aircraft.
