150,000 labeled stool images from about 25,000 people were advertised for sale on Reddit’s r/DHExchange by user Ill_Car_7351, who said the dataset could be valuable for machine-learning training and cancer studies.
The images came from PoopCheck, an AI app by Soft All Things that asks users to upload photos for a “daily gut health score” based on the Bristol Stool Scale and other pattern analysis.
PoopCheck also runs a social feed and leaderboard showing 151,317 “shared stools,” though the report says photos are not posted publicly by default and users must choose to share them.
The listing underscores how highly sensitive health-related app data can be repackaged for AI and research markets, even when the material involves intimate user submissions.
