Seattle homicide detectives took a 31-year-old former University of Washington student into custody after he surrendered Wednesday night to Bellevue police in the May 10 stabbing death of a 19-year-old student.
Police had released surveillance photos hours earlier and asked the public to help find him after a three-day search tied to the killing in a laundry room at Nordheim Court apartments.
The victim was found with stab wounds late Sunday, and University of Washington police and Seattle firefighters were unable to revive the student.
Nordheim Court is privately managed but listed by UW as undergraduate housing, and investigators have not publicly identified a motive or released the suspect's name.
With the victim being a transgender woman, will investigators probe the campus murder as a possible hate crime?
