George Kittle said he killed a half-dollar-sized spider at 4 a.m. after his wife found it in their bathroom, recounting the episode in a post on X.
The 32-year-old 49ers tight end said he used the slant board from his Achilles rehab and needed only one strike to kill the spider before going back to sleep.
That rehab follows a torn right Achilles tendon suffered in San Francisco's 23-19 playoff win over Philadelphia in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Kyle Shanahan said last month there is a chance Kittle could be ready for Week 1, a potential lift for a 49ers offense that got 57 catches, 628 yards and seven touchdowns from him in 11 games last season.
